What is Trikaal Sandhya

Trikal Sandhya consists of recitation of mantras from the Vedas.

Tirkal means three times’. Sandhya means meeting points of day & night and forenoon & afternoon.

This is a process of expressing gratitude to nature and almighty thrice a day (early morning, noon, early evening)
Trikal Sandhya is mandatory for those who are being initiated through the sacred thread ceremony referred to as the Upanayanam by qualified Guru.

Gayatri Mata is the representation of the divine essence of Mahalakshmi, Mahasaraswati and Mahakali.

The word Gayatri is a combination of 'Gaya' (hymn of wisdom) and 'Tri' represents three Goddesses.

Goddess Gayatri is worshipped as the deity, which expresses the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom.

As per the Vedic literature, she is portrayed as the female form of the light of the sun.

The light itself denotes the wisdom that enlightens the soul.

Goddess Gayatri is shown to have five heads and ten hands.

Each head represents a Panch Vayu or Panch Praan - Samaan, Udaan, Praan, Apaan and Vyaan.

They also represent the Panch Tatva - Prithvi (earth), Vayu (air), Jal (water), Aakash (sky/ether) and Tej (fire).

In her ten hands are shankh, chakra, varad, kamal, kalash, abhaya, ujjwal patra, ankush and rudraksha mala.
